Job Summary

We are actively seeking physically strong, detail-oriented, and highly reliable individuals to join our cross-dock operations team. As a Part-Time Dock Worker and Forklift Operator, you will physically load and unload trailers, secure heavy freight, and scan barcodes. You will serve as the operational engine, delivering the signature reliability that sets Estes apart in the LTL shipping industry. This is an extremely active role where you will operate heavy machinery, work on an open-air dock, and earn a highly competitive paycheck.

Comprehensive Responsibilities

• Forklift Unloading: Work rapidly to unload incoming 53-foot trailers, utilizing sit-down forklifts to move heavy, palletized freight safely to staging areas.
• Cross-Dock Sorting: Read freight bills and routing tags quickly to move pallets across the dock to their correct outbound trailers based on zip code routing.
• Outbound Loading: Safely and tightly stack pallets inside outbound trailers, utilizing straps, load bars, and decking to maximize space and prevent transit damage.
• Safety Adherence: Maintain a clean workspace on the dock, conduct pre-shift forklift inspections, and strictly utilize proper lifting and driving mechanics.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age upon application.
• Previous forklift experience is highly preferred, but we will provide complete, certified safety and operational training for the right candidate.
• Must possess an incredibly reliable work ethic and a commitment to terminal safety.
• Extreme physical stamina with the continuous ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb on and off a forklift, and work exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
