As a Part-Time Dock Worker, you will be trained to operate industrial forklifts to load and unload commercial freight safely. Comprehensive Responsibilities
- Forklift Operation: Safely drive a sit-down forklift to move heavy, palletized, and irregular commercial freight from inbound trailers to outbound staging bays.
- Freight Securing: Utilize load bars, decking, and strapping techniques inside the trailer to ensure freight does not shift or crush during over-the-road transit.
- Scanner Auditing: Utilize handheld barcode scanners to read PRO numbers, ensuring every piece of freight is routed to the exact correct destination terminal.
- Safety & Maintenance: Conduct daily inspections on your forklift, report any damaged freight to supervisors immediately, and keep the dock clear of dunnage.
